Learn About Richardson Texas

Learn About Richardson Texas

Richardson Texas  is an affluent "inner surburb" in the northern sector of the Dallas area with a population of around 106,000.   The City has been best known for its status as the  hub of Dallas' Telecom Corridor in the 1990's and 2000's.  It is the home of University of Texas at Dallas.  The City of Richardson is located in both Dallas and Collin Counties and there are five zip code areas covering 28 square miles of land area.   Richardson is home to more than 5,000 businesses including some of the world's largest telecommunications companies.  Richardson is also the national headquarters of State Farm and the Texas Campus of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.  Richardson's new Cityline Development at the State Farm Campus offers many new dining and shopping selections including  Whole Foods Market, Jaspers's, Modern Market, Starbucks, Fernando's Mexican and Taco Diner among others.  Richardson's Eisemann Performing Arts Center is one of the largest venues of its kind north of Downtown Dallas and its surrounding campus is the location for the famed Richardson Wildflower Festival.  The city is also home of the area's favorite Cottonwood Arts Festival.  You can find a fantastic public library system, a vast number of parks, dog parks, walking and bike trails, public recreation centers and swimming pools and a City owned gymnastics center.   Richardson offers many public services to its citizens something that newer Texas suburbs are often unable to accomodate.  The police, fire and emergency services are top notch and there is an abundance of hospitals and medical services in the area including a Level 1 trauma hospital.  Richardson participated early in the Dallas Area Rapid Transit and has and will have some of the most abundant transportation options available in the region.  Currently, there is rail line with 4 Richardson stops that extends from Plano to the north into Downtown Dallas to the south.  There is a future rail plan along the Cottonbelt Rail Line in process that will take passengers from east to west eventually to DFW airport.   There are two school districts that serve Richardson students including Richardson ISD in the south and Plano ISD on the north side of the city.  For more information on homes for sale in Richardson, scroll down or call the Top Listing Realtor in Richardson, Shuey Group at 469-242-2929 Ebby Richardson in Dallas Richardson Texas in Dallas
